Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Hit In Radford Print E-mail

Kimberly Nicole Eaves, 28, of Radford, was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Monday night while walking along Route 232 in Radford.

According to the Radford Department of Police, Eaves was attempting to walk westbound against traffic from Midkiff Lane to Jeffries Drive when a vehicle traveling eastbound struck her at around 11:20 p.m. Monday night.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Laura Beth Cook, 21, also of Radford. 

Eaves was transported to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center and then later to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  She was listed in serious condition.

Eaves was wearing dark clothing at the time of the collision, according to Lt. Andy Wilburn.

Police are continuing its investigation into the accident.
