For the second time this week, the New River Valley has awoken to light snow, forcing schools to alter their schedule and creating hazardous road conditions for the morning commute.
UPDATED 9:45 a.m. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Montgomery County until 6 p.m. this evening. ORIGINAL POST: Schools in Pulaski County are closed today, while the City of Radford, Giles and Floyd County schools are on a two-hour delay, with Montgomery County starting an hour late. VDOT is reporting that most, if not all, of the secondary roads are slick and/or still snow covered. Area police departments are reporting numerous minor accidents throughout the region. EverythingNRV.com will be posting updates as they become available. Roads in downtown Blacksburg where clear, for my commute to work. It made for another pretty morning in the New River Valley. Not sure of the totals here, but it did not cover the tips of the grass in my yard. This is the amount of snow I like, not so much hazardous, just peaceful.
