Three Seriously Injured In Pulaski County Wreck Print E-mail
David Grimes

A combination of speed and alcohol led to a single-vehicle accident in Pulaski County Saturday night, seriously injuring three people.

According to Sgt. Mike Honaker of the Virginia State Police, Johnny L. Quesenberry, 21, Darren Carrol, 20, and Heather Cummings, 18, all from Pulaski, suffered serious life-threatening injuries and were transported to Pulaski Community Hospital following the 9:39 p.m. accident Saturday night on Bob White Boulevard. Quesenberry was then transferred to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, while Carrol was transferred to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Their exact conditions were not known Monday afternoon.

According to Trooper M. A. Newberry’s report, Quesenberry was operating a 1989 Chevrolet Blazer north on Bob White Boulevard, 1/10 of a mile south of Cougar Trail Road, at a high rate of speed. The vehicle ran off the left side of the road, striking a pump house and a fence. The vehicle than overturned into a small creek and all three of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle.

Sgt. Honaker said that Trooper Newberry’s report indicated that the Quesenberry vehicle was allegedly traveling around 70 miles per hour in a 45 MPH zone. He also noted in his report that none of the occupants were wearing their seatbelts and that all three appeared to be intoxicated.

Quesenberry was charged with Driving Under the Influence.
