Donna Reed of Shawsville was sentenced to three years in prison, all suspended, for welfare fraud after pleading guilty. She was also placed on five years of supervised probation. In addition, she pled guilty on two other charges of welfare fraud and was sentenced to 12 months in jail, all suspended, on each charge. She also received another 12 months, suspended, for making a false statement. All of her sentences will run consecutively.

Donnie Ray Wheeling of Elliston was sentenced to five years in prison, with four years and 10 months suspended, after pleading guilty to possession of a Schedule I/II drug. His driver’s license was suspended for six months and he was also placed on three years of supervised probation. Wheeling also pled guilty to an amended charge of DUI-2nd offense within five years and was given 60 days in jail, with 40 days suspended. His Driver’s license was suspended for three years and he was also placed on three years of supervised probation. He was also sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 20 days suspended for driving on a suspended license-3rd or subsequent offense. He also lost his license for 90 days and placed on three years of supervised probation. All of the sentences will run consecutively.

Glenn Dee William Schaem of Shawsville pled guilty to possession of a Schedule I/II drug was sentenced to three years in prison with two years and 10 months suspended. His driver’s license was also suspended for six months and he was placed on three years of supervised probation.

Seth Linkous Thomas of Riner pled guilty to larceny-3rd or subsequent offense. He was sentenced to three years in prison with two years and nine months suspended. He was also placed on three years of supervised probation.

Scottie Tobias of Charlotte, NC was sentenced to five years in prison, with all five years suspended, after pleading guilty to obtaining money by false pretenses. He was also placed on five years of supervised probation. He also pled guilty to uttering a check and was also given five years in prison, all suspended, plus five years supervised probation. He also plead guilty to a second charge of obtaining money by false pretenses. On this particular charge, he was sentenced to five years in prison, with one year and two months suspended. He was also placed on five years of supervised probation amd must pay $5963.62 in restitution. He also pled guilty to another charge of uttering and obtaining money by false pretenses. He received five years in prison, with five years suspended on both of those charges. His sentences will run consecutively.

Joyce Hall of Blacksburg was sentenced to five years in prison, all suspended, for giving false information. She was fined $500 and must make restitution in the amount of $1665.90 and placed on three years of supervised probation. Three additional charges of welfare fraud and giving a false statement were not prosecuted.

Christina Renee Lytton of Christiansburg was sentenced to three years in prison, all suspended, for obtaining drugs by fraud. She was placed on three years of supervised probation.

Tyrone James Farrow of Christiansburg pled guilty to distributing a Schedule III drug. He was sentenced to five years in prison, all suspended. He was on three years of supervised probation, had his driver’s license suspended for six months, fined $500 and must pay restitution in the amount of $160. On a second charge of distributing a Schedule III drug, he was sentenced to five years in prison, all suspended, fine $500 and lost his driver’s license for six months. His sentence will run consecutively.

Anthony James Hicks of Salem was sentenced to five years in prison, all suspended, for distribution of a Schedule III drug. He was placed on three years supervised probation, had his operator’s license suspended for six months, fined $250 and must pay $30 in restitution.

All of those crimes and 95% of them suspended for the whole term.
