Two Escape Montgomery County Fire Print E-mail
David Grimes

Two people escaped a house fire in the McCoy section of Montgomery County early Wednesday morning without injury.

According to Sgt. Mark Hollandsworth of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, firefighters with the Longshop-McCoy Fire Department responded to the reported house fire in the 4700 block of Hibiscus shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

When the fire and rescue personnel arrived, they found flames and heavy smoke coming from the residence.

Sgt. Hollandsworth said the two occupants in the residence escaped without any injuries.

The fire appeared to have started in the front of the residence, but it did not appear to be suspicious in nature at this time.

The Longshop-McCoy Fire Department is continuing its investigation into the exact cause of the fire.
