AES Anniversary Celebration Print E-mail
Larry Middleton
Auburn Elementary School celebrated 10 years of successes in their 1998 facility this past Friday.

AES was exquisitely decorated inside, helping the 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. social-gathering guests have a special atmosphere that they seemed to enjoy.

However, the most 'action' was earlier in the afternoon, as over 600 students joined in a time-capsule ceremony, led my Principal Dr. Moles.

He welcomed the guest-of-honor, Dr. Jeff Perry.  Dr. Perry was the initial Principal of AES, before becoming a District

Superintendent in Colorado.

Dr. Perry's remarks included praise for the faculty staff, students, and Montgomery County Public Schools for their support and efforts.

Dr. Perry challenged the fifth-graders to continue to be responsible role-models and pace-setters for other grade-levels.

The highlight of the sunny afternoon was the placing of a time-capsule that included photos of every class, and other artifacts.  The students enjoyed visiting the capsule site, as they streamed by.
