Henry Sink Memorial Stadium Dedication Print E-mail
Larry Middleton
The Sink family of Riner was honored Friday night with the official designation of the Auburn High School (AHS) stadium as the Henry Sink Memorial Stadium. A standing-room only crowd came to the 7 p.m. event, as AHS Principal Carl Pauli welcomed the Henry Sink family, several County and regional officials, and the audience. Pauli read the verbiage on a plaque that is to be mounted on a large stone, placed at the entrance to the stadium.  The stone was moved from Sinkland Farms, having been often used as a 'story telling' seating area, according to family members.  The stone was touched by each family member, and will be touched by each player at all AHS Henry Sink Memorial Stadium events.

Sink, the AHS 'waterboy' and inspirational leader of the team, was also fondly known by many children as the 'pumpkin-man', because of the Sinkland Farms Pumpkin Festivals and his kind demeanor with children. Mr. Sink and his family shared their farm and resources in an humble manner, and they continue the traditions that please kids of all ages.

As the AHS choir sang a special song to the Sink the family, a large rainbow appeared from the Northern edge of AHS, and spanned to the Southernmost horizon.

Henry Sink Memorial Stadium Dedication at Auburn High School
written by AHS/Sink family admirer, September 06, 2008
The rainbow that appeared, during the cermonies, reminded many of the beauty of the Sink family, it's association with Auburn schools, and the Sinkland Farms events that inspire many, especially children. Thanks to the Sink family, AHS, Montgomery County Public Schools, and fans.
America, home of Henry Sink and his family.
