Steve Cochran, Montgomery County Democratic Party Chairman, led the weekly Democratic meeting at Lefty's Grill in Blacksburg this past Wednesday.
After giving a synopsis of his Denver convention experiences, Cochran suggested several strategies that would help the Democrats win the Presidential race. From yard-signs to phone banks, an intensive effort will be in place in the county, especially from the Kent Square Obama headquarters. Registration of voters is in 'high-gear' across the USA. "I was brought to tears, as many were, when Barack Obama spoke,” Cochran said. “Where else, but America, can be have the opportunity to make precedent-setting changes? Not only was it an historical event, it was hysterical, with emotions running very high, throughout the convention halls. I will never forget my Denver experience. The citizens of the USA know that we must, and will elect Barack Obama as our next President!"
