Pennsylvania Company to Open Facility in Pulaski County Print E-mail
David Grimes
New jobs are coming to the New River Valley, as a leading manufacturer of high quality lead-acid batteries and accessories, has decided to locate a new facility in Pulaski County.

East Penn Manufacturing Company, based in Lyon Station, PA., will open a 24,000–square-foot service and repair facility in the Wurno Warehouses.

According to Robert Harrop, Vice-president of Personnel for East Penn, the new facility will initially employ four people.

East Penn is the leading manufacture of high quality lead-acid batteries and accessories for the automotive, telecommunications, marine, commercial, industrial and stationary markets. The company makes thousands of different sizes and types of lead-acid batteries, battery accessories, and wire and cable products for virtually any application.

The Pulaski County facility will service and repair batteries used in mining equipment, according to Harrop.

East Penn, which has more than a two million-square-foot facility on 490-plus acres in Lyon Station, PA., has been recognized in Pennsylvania as one of the 'best places to work.'
