Graham Fest USA Print E-mail
Larry Middleton

Great fun was experienced by thousands of folks at Josiah's Graham Fest USA, on Aug. 31 and Labor Day. Just above the cool waters of a spring-house, warmer temperatures and emotions filled the area.

The New River Valley event, held in Wythe Co. at the famed Graham Mansion grounds, offered music of many sorts, dancers, Graham Mansion tours, and an assortment of antiques.  One of the biggest 'draws' was the original, circa 1955, Flat and Scruggs tour-bus.  Adorned with photographs and autographs by many stars from several decades, it was an intriguing tour. The Graham Mansion, touted to be haunted, also drew hundreds of tour seekers.

While often seeking shade from the rather hot temperatures, no one missed the 'hot' entertainment.  From hillsides, to stage-area seating, everyone could find entertainment of interest.  Three stages were used to facilitate the varietal venues.

Several recording-artists performed; Confederate Railroad headlined the closing of Graham Fest, on Labor Day night.

Unique experience, not to be missed~! After 2.5 Million $$ of audio and 'fan' amenities, let alone the beautiful site...words cannot describe the experience. Advice to most all: come to Graham Fest, next year (I'm sure information will be forth-coming about the event). You won't regret it!!
