The City of Roanoke reminds citizens and Virginia Tech fans that this year's Pep Rally to kickoff the 2008 football season will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, in the Special Events Center of the Roanoke Civic Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. The formal program, sponsored by WDBJ 7, will start around 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The following additional events will be held on Sept. 5 in conjunction with the Pep Rally: • Roanoke Valley Hokie Club 9th Annual Hokie Pride Day - all day.
• Roanoke Valley Hokie Club Luncheon at Hidden Valley Country Club - 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
• NewVa Corridor Technology Expo at Roanoke Civic Center Special Events Center - 3-6 p.m.
• Pep Rally Prelude - Showcase of Academic Programs, including the SUBWAY Super Fan Contest - 6-7:30 p.m.
