Roberson was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Tennessee Highway Patrol at around 7:05 a.m. (Central Time) at his girlfriend’s residence in Lavergne, Tenn., which is a suburb of Nashville.

According to First Sgt. Mike Honaker of the Virginia State Police, Roberson is wanted on 16 felony charges and one misdemeanor charge involving the theft and use of a debit card in Pulaski County.

An investigation into the theft was initiated on June 10 after the victim realized that someone had stolen his debit card and was using it without authorization on June 5. During the investigation, which was being conducted by Trooper D.M. Reece, Roberson became the suspect through various surveillance photographs.

After receiving a tip that Roberson was in Tennessee, the U.S. Marshals Service was requested to assist in locating the suspect. Marshals tracked Roberson down through the use of financial transactions and the use of the suspects cell phone.

Roberson, who has an extensive criminal record in six states including a current charge of malicious wounding in Tennessee, is being held in a Nashville jail without bond pending an extradition hearing to bring him back to Pulaski County.
