Many Enjoy Concerts At Bisset Park Print E-mail
David Grimes
Despite the hot temperatures and the lack of shade, a large crowd turned out Tuesday evening to enjoy the weekly Concerts in the Park held at the Gazebo at Radford’s Bisset Park.

Last night’s concert featured Sam Moore on bass guitar and Danny O’ Brian on guitar playing some great country sounds and even some Johnny Cash style music. Even a few couples made their way down to the front of the Gazebo to show off their dancing techniques to the appreciative crowd.

Several people in the crowd kept cool with umbrellas and one family set up even a tent. While, many bought their lounge chairs and braved the hot temperatures that hovered around the 90-degree mark.

To brave the heat, many people bought drinks and water from home, one man was observed eating watermelon, and even the ice cream man showed up to sell snow cones.

“It’s really hot out here tonight,” said Agnes Moore. “I have been to everyone of the concerts thus far and I wasn’t about to miss the country music.”

The free concert is offered every Tuesday at the Bisset Park Gazebo and is sponsored by the Radford Parks and Recreation Department.
