Paintings At Home Again In Blacksburg PDF Print E-mail
Written by EverythingNRV

The family of Ruth Ellis Allen, donated 47 of her water color paintings to Warm Hearth Village.  Ruth grew up in Blacksburg on the Tech campus where her father, Weldon T. Ellis was the head of the Engineering Department in the 1920’s.

She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Botany at Virginia Tech.  Her passion for painting flourished when she and her family settled in Washington, DC.  Ruth later returned to Blacksburg in 2000 as a resident of the Kroontje Health Care Center and her daughter, Avery Allen Cox shares “my mother would be pleased to know her paintings are at home in Blacksburg.”   They will be displayed throughout the Village for residents and guests to enjoy.

Warm Hearth Village is a non-profit senior living community offering a continuum of care ranging from independent living to long-term nursing care.
