The man who shot at his niece's boyfriend Monday afternoon was finally taken into custody last night following a manhunt by sheriff deputies from Bland, Giles and Pulaski Counties.
Jerry Stone, who has a Pulaski County address, was taken into custody Monday evening. At the current time, charges are pending. According to the Bland County Sheriff's Office, Stone will probably be charged with attempted malicious wounding. According to sheriff’s office, Stone allegedly shot at Matthew Justice, who was cutting wood on his niece’s property on Mt. Zion Road in the eastern portion of Bland County at around 2 p.m. The man, who is dating Stone’s niece, was not injured. Following the shooting, Stone fled into the woods. Stone has been in an ongoing dispute with his niece, Alice Stone, over some property ownership and has been living in the woods near the property.
