CHS FFA students earned top honors at the 82nd convention of the Virginia Future Farmers of America. Andrew Graham earned the State FFA Degree as well as being named Appalachian Area Star in agricultural placement.
Graham and Elizabeth Young were also awarded State Proficiency Awards in agriculture sales and small animal care respectively. Andy Metzler placed 2nd in the state creed speaking contest. Also attending were Erin Burns, Mary Cook, Ben Furrow, and John Mark Turner who participated in the vet science contest. The FFA is the nation’s largest student organization encompassing nearly a half million agriculture education students in all 50 states plus Puerto Rico. Virginia has approximately 10,000 members.
