A preliminary hearing for a Collinsville man, who shot and killed a Floyd County man, has been scheduled for September in Floyd County General District Court.
Joshua Jonathan Hairston, 18, has been charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is schedule to appear in court on Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. It’s alleged that Hairston shot and killed Sean Michael Neumann at his Check residence on Route 221 near the VDOT shop on June 5. Investigators with the Virginia State Police and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office have yet to release a motive or any details concerning the shooting.’ Hairston was arrested on June 12 after police and the U.S. Marshal’s Office located him at a residence in Martinsville. Hairston is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail.
