Montgomery County School Board Gives Anderson A Four Year Contract Extension Print E-mail
David Grimes

Despite being at a basketball camp in Chapel Hill with her son, the Montgomery County School Board voted Tuesday night to extend Superintendent Tiffany Anderson’s contract for another four years, in addition to giving her an 8.6 percent salary increase.

“I got a call that my board voted unanimously to extend my contract another 4 years with a salary increase of 8.6 percent tonight in my absence which is a wonderful surprise,” said Anderson in an email to EverythingNRV.com late last night.

The board voted 6-0 to extend her contract, which will take effect on July 1. Board member Wat Hopkins did not attend last night’s meeting.

Just last week, Anderson was eliminated from a similar post with the Cincinnati Public Schools following a four-hour interview. She had also withdrawn her name after being interviewed for the top spot with the Memphis Public Schools.

”I am very pleased with the board's unanimous decision and I look forward to continuing to serve our families in Montgomery County.  Montgomery County is a special place to our family and the unanimous showing of support from the school board in giving an additional extension along with the continued support from principals across the division means a great deal,” added Anderson. “We do love our community very much and I look forward to the many achievements ahead for Montgomery County Public Schools.”
