As the online movement expands, United Way of Montgomery, Radford & Floyd is one of the first to get connected. Out of 1,400 local United Way organizations in the country, our own local United Way is the 13th to establish it’s own MySpace cause, and the 54th to establish it’s own Facebook cause. It is also the first “small” United Way to adopt Volunteer Solutions, an online, searchable database of local volunteer opportunities. The new online presence will no doubt foster community engagement, as well as reach a whole new generation of young people. The organization is celebrating its lead in online innovation this Saturday, June 21st with its first Day of e-Action. On this day, United Way asks that you use your extra hours on the longest day of the year to get online and get connected with your community by joining our cause on MySpace and Facebook. Just log in to your MySpace or Facebook account and type in our full name to find us. Or, go to our website for detailed instructions at http://www.unitedwaynrv.org. Once you join, you will be able to read more about what we do and the people we help, check out our pictures and videos, donate and meet others who have joined our cause online. Help out your community this summer by taking the time to join us online on our Day of e-Action. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. Live United.
