Police are searching for Joshua Jonathan Hairston, 18, of Floyd County. He is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Law enforcement officials said that as of Sunday evening, Hairston was still on the run. They believe he may have fled the Floyd County area.

Hairston is a suspect in a shooting,which took place just before midnight Thursday, in which a Floyd County man was fatally wounded.

Sources have identified the victim as Sean Neumann, 39, of Floyd County. However, state police would not confirm that information.

State police, nor the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office has released any information surrounding the shooting, citing it as ongoing investigation.

According to Virginia State Police Sgt. Rob Carpentieri, the Floyd County Sheriff’s office received a 9-1-1 call shortly before midnight on June 5, requesting an ambulance for a man who had been shot at a residence on Floyd Highway (Rt. 221), across from the Virginia Department of Transportation shop in Check.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Floyd County Sheriff's Office at 745-9334 or the state police at (800) 542-5959.
