A Pulaski man will spend the next 70 years of his life in prison after a Montgomery County Jury found him guilty Friday on two charges of malicious wounding and burglary.

It took the jury only 20 minutes to find David Thomas Baldwin guilty on one count of burglary and two counts of malicious wounding and another 20 minutes to sentence him to 70 years in prison. He received 30 years for the burglary charge and 20 years on each of the two malicious wounding charges.

On May 1, 2006, Baldwin broke into his brother’s trailer by knocking down the door with a machete. Once inside the residence, he assaulted his brother with the machete and punched a female that was inside the trailer.  This particular incident resulted in a manhunt, which led police from Montgomery County to Pulaski County.

Judge Grubbs will formally sentence Baldwin on Sept. 12 in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
