A single-lane bridge on Flat Hollow Road in the White Gate community of Giles County has collapsed after a concrete truck went over the bridge this afternoon.

According to Sgt. Michael Conroy of the Virginia State Police, the concrete truck was carrying cement when it went over the bridge, which is located near the White Gate Community Center.

“The bridge has collapsed and the truck is sitting in the creek,” added Sgt. Conroy.

The driver received minor injuries.

The Virginia State Police are currently on the scene and no other details are available at this time.
