Carson’s Courtyard Comes To Life

Carson’s Courtyard was jamming with music, courtesy of bluegrass band Exit 109, at its ribbon cutting ceremony Monday evening.

The event officially opens the courtyard, which has been transformed after a fire destroyed the old Carson’s Drugstore, into a peaceful spot along East Main St.

The courtyard features a stenciled concrete floor, garden area, lighting and benches for relaxing.

Economic Development Director Basil Edwards says he foresees the area to be a place for intimate get-togethers in a downtown setting.
