| TRAFFIC ALERT: One Lane Of I-81 North Will Be Closed For Bridge Repairs Near Ironto Starting At 6:30 |

The left lane of northbound Interstate 81 will be closed beginning at 6:30 p.m. today at mile marker 128 in Montgomery County near the Ironto exit for bridge repairs. Work is expected to continue through the night and the left lane is expected to re-open at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Workers will be pouring concrete at this location as part of the ongoing work on the bridges over the South Fork of the Roanoke River at mile marker 128. A long-term work zone has been established and the speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph in this area. Motorists should use caution and expect delays in this area.

The Heritage Day festival at Montgomery Museum & Lews Miller Regional Art Center proved a success. With historical re-enactments and live entertainment, the day was filled with plenty of fun. Charlie "Bird" Parker was an American saxophonist and composer. As a young man, he moved to NYC to pursue a career in music. There, Parker met and played with a group of young musicians in Harlem clubs. In 1945, Parker and Dizzy Gillespie made the first bop (or bebop) records, becoming leaders of the bop movement in jazz. Parker's brilliant improvisations, noted for their power and beauty, soon earned the admiration of countless musicians. At what age did Parker begin playing the saxophone?
