Local Businesses To Take Part In A "Day of Remembrance"

Several businesses in and around the New River Valley, including McDonalds, will be providing special offers in conjunction with the “Day of Remembrance” activities going on at Virginia Tech today.

· Any fire, police or EMS members in uniform can get a free breakfast at any McDonalds in the region. This activity, which will take place on Wednesday only, is being sponsored in part by the K-92 Radio’s morning show team of Danny Meyers and Zack Jackson. The K92 Morning Thang show will broadcast this morning from McDonalds in Blacksburg.

· At the Chocolate Spike, owner Eugene Ranck, will be making chocolate clay ribbons for customers to purchase. Some of the proceeds from the orange and maroon snacks, which can be air-dried to be preserved, will be donated to the April 16 memorial fund.

· My Fair Lady Flower Shop will have orange and maroon flowers to purchase at a minimum of $10.

· There will free cookies and lemonade at Mad Dog.

Several other business were still undecided as of late Tuesday as to rather they would be doing anything special or offering any special discounts.
