Budget Hearing Tops Monday's Radford City Council Meeting PDF Print E-mail

A public hearing on the Proposed Budget for FY 2008-09 is just one of the many items that will be discussed at Monday night’s Radford City Council meeting. The meeting, which is held at the City Administration Building at 619 Second Street, will start at 7:30 p.m. Other items to be discussed Monday night include: First reading of Radford’s Proposed Budget Ordinance for F.Y. 2008-09;Appropriation Ordinance 1549.43: The Forestry & Beautification Commission is requesting $400 in donations be used to purchase trees for planting along Sundell Drive; Go Green Initiative - Climate Protection Resolution: setting a goal that the City will reduce its carbon emissions by 10% by 2015; Consider request by the Festival of Lights committee in the amount of $1,500 for maintenance of the existing holiday decorations; Declare the following vehicles and equipment as surplus property: Chevrolet 1500 pickup #257, Smith 125 air compressor #305, Ford F700 dump truck #357, Ford F250 pickup #368, Dodge 1500 pickup #377, GMC 1500 pickup #390, Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight sedan #417, GMC C8500 dump truck #420, Ford Crown Victoria sedans #431, #448, #467, #536, Ford Explorer SUV #530, Ford E350 van #579; Consider proposal to utilize $17,379 in overpayment of dental fees to increase the maximum payment for dental fees per employee, implement an Employee Assistance Program and for the continuation of the City’s wellness program; and Consider request by Ms. Helen DeHart to rezone property located at 1713 Second St. from B-2 to R-3.
