Montgomery County’s latest “corporate citizen” broke ground Tuesday for its new facility that will bring an investment of $3 million and 46 jobs here.
New Jersey-based Inorganic Ventures, Inc. broke ground on its new 20,000-square-foot, state-of the-art corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility. Construction will begin soon on its 6.6 acre site at the County’s Falling Branch Corporate Park in Christiansburg.
“We are pleased that Inorganic Ventures is the latest ‘corporate citizen’ to relocate to our County and Falling Branch Corporate Park,” said Annette Perkins, Chair, Montgomery County Board of Supervisors. “It is a genuine success story for the County to attract a company such as this with an established reputation, working in state-of-the-art technology to provide customized products to a growing international customer list.”
“Inorganic Ventures was founded in 1985 to provide the highest quality chemical standards, and reference materials for the scientific community,” said Inorganic Ventures CEO Paul Gaines. “Our move to Christiansburg signals the next phase in the company’s existence. We at Inorganic Ventures are excited about entering this next phase and are confident that this is the right place to launch such a campaign.
“Our gathering today on ground yet unbroken, looking forward, symbolizes in a sense, the ongoing task of Inorganic Ventures: we must plan for the future, and build for it, with attention to the surrounding community,” Dr. Gaines continued. “In this spirit this facility has been designed to be 100 percent environmentally friendly.”
Inorganic Ventures is the leading custom inorganic chemical standards manufacturer in the United States for companies in a growing market throughout the world. Along with a related company, PLG, LLC, Inorganic Ventures will develop its parcel, acquired from the County’s Industrial Development Authority. A contractor has been selected and architectural and engineering drawings are progressing. All operations in New Jersey will be closed following its transition to the Montgomery County site, which will be the company’s only North American location.
Inorganic Ventures expects to begin recruiting and training professional employees this summer and begin operations here in the fall. Nearby universities will enable the recruitment of a high-tech work force.
Montgomery County’s Economic Development officials worked closely with the Town of Christiansburg, the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance, the State’s Economic Development Partnership and the County’s Industrial Development Authority to recruit the company, which is the fourth business to locate in Falling Branch Corporate Park.
