Christiansburg Police Release Sketch of Suspect

Christiansburg police are continuing their search today for a man who is wanted for breaking into a residence and sexually assaulting a woman late Thursday morning. Today, the CPD released a sketch of the suspect they are searching for at this time. The man is suspected of breaking into a home on Warren Court, off Radford Street in Christiansburg, and sexually assaulting a woman inside, police said.

The suspect is described as black male with a light complextion, about 6-1, weighing 170-180 pounds, with tightly braided shoulder length hair. He was wearing baggy, light-colored pants and a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt.

With Christiansburg Primary School, Middle School and High School all located within a two-mile radius of the crime scene, Montgomery County School Superintendent Tiffany Anderson decided to put the schools on lockdown Thursday as a precautionary measure.
