Two Radford men are in custody and police are still searching for another suspect following a home-invasion robbery, which took place early Tuesday morning in Pulaski.
Marques A. Bakaitis, 27, of Radford has been charged with Burglary in the nighttime while armed (Class 2 felony), Armed Robbery (Class 3 felony) and additional charges are pending. Bakaitis is currently being held at the New River Regional Jail in Dublin without bond. Marcus D. Garner, 20, also of Radford, was arrested at the Pulaski Police Department last night. He is facing the same charges as Bakaitis. Garner is being held under $7,500 bond. The third supsect has now been identified as James Eugen Smith. He is describe as a black male, 5 foot-nine inches, 150 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. He currently resides in Radford. Police are still searching for Smith. (See photo) According to Pulaski police, the three suspects broke into a house through the back door on Valley Road at approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday morning and accosted the residents. The suspects demanded money and drugs from the victims and during the incident; a firearm was discharged inside the residence by one of the suspects.
