A lot of fun is expected this evening and on Sunday, as the Radford High School Public Service Club will be sponsoring a 3-on-3 basketball tournament to help raise money for the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research in the RHS Gymnasium.
Things will get underway at 6:30 p.m. this evening when Virginia Tech Head Men’s Basketball Coach Seth Greenberg will be giving introduction about the event and the Jimmy V Foundation. “Right now we have about 10 teams signed up,” said RHS student Sanjay Kishore, who is helping organize the event. “We look for this number to rise.” In addition to coach Greenberg’s comments this evening, there will be a student/faculty game where three (3) varsity players will take on three (3) staff members. “We will have two very funny seniors as commentators for this game,” said Kishore. There will be 3-on-3 competition this evening, as well as on Sunday. There will be door prizes and raffles for gift certificates to places such as Applebee's, Pascal's Triangle, Coldstone, and El Charro. “We hope that the public will come out and enjoy some great basketball, have some fun, as well as supporting a worthy cause,” added Kishore. There is a $3 admission charge and all proceeds will go to the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research.
