The City of Roanoke will host the 8th Annual Green Living and Energy Expo on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2 and 3, in the Roanoke Civic Center's Special Events Center.
To kick off the event, Roanoke City Council Member Gwen Mason will speak at an opening ceremony in the Center's pre-function area on Friday at 9:45 a.m. Ms.Mason will make a special entrance into the ceremony by electric car. The Green Living and Energy Expo, a free event organized by the Association of Energy Conservation Professionals, is designed to provide, promote, and advocate energy conservation. Area vendors will offer exhibits, demonstrations, and seminars to help attendees learn to use energy efficiently and educate them about renewable energy and sustainable living. Hours will be Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Areas that will be highlighted at the event include: . Green Building . Land Conservation . Fuel Cells .
