So ... I thought I'd coined a term. After a quick Google search, I found I wasn't quite so lucky ... or, was I? |

Yesterday, I began working temporarily as a part time Public Information Specialist for Montgomery County. It's amazing how much can happen in one day. |

Warner vs. Gilmore. So if you were a political candidate with a twenty point lead over your competitor, would you actually debate your opponent. Hell no. What is Warner thinking? The U.S. Senate race is Mark Warner's to lose. He campaign funds are about 10 to 1 over Gilmore. His lead is over 20 points. And as Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards was so fond of saying, "the only way I am going to get beat is by someone catching me in bed with a dead girl or a live boy." Just for the record, Gilmore scored on a couple of zingers but Warner was great, not allowing himself to get pulled into the defensive position. However, I still don't get where Warner's advisors are going with all of this - the only way Warner can get beat is to screw-up in one of these debates. Refusing to debate never got a candidate beat, but debating poorly has crushed many. I don't get it. |

Between traveling and a constant barrage of meetings over the last two weeks, I have been unable to think about much of anything outside of business....................especially politics. And each time I thought about expressing my opinion with this column, there was some fat ass taking some shot at me for having an opinion. Oh well.......you gotta feel sorry that someone can't express their opinion because they might be in the minority or they could lose their job. Do people really think we have freedom of speech in this country? Get a clue - give your opinion and God forbid if someone disagrees with it. |

Wow.......would someone pull that knife out of my back? ................thanks, I am back and much better now. What's happening this week: Gun Control. Was it an oversight, or was it a cruel joke? I nearly fell out of my chair yesterday when I saw the article on a local website about the Supreme Court striking down a gun ban in place for handguns in the District of Columbia. And right below that was a story about a Memorial Softball Tournament for Fallen Law Enforcement Officers. Seriously. Would you have not taken 10 seconds to see that the 2 stories are polar opposites? I’m very doubtful that these officers’ families and friends are all for making it easy for people to buy guns. An apology is due from that website. |
