The Gospel Heritage Concert, sponsored by Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, wil be on Saturday, July 5th at 7:30. A unique event featuring some of the best musicians and singers of the Blue Ridge. This Heritage Concert will showcase gospel music from the old-time, bluegrass, a cappella and shape note singing traditions. Call the store for tickets at (540) 745-4563. Two musical acts will perform on the festival stage from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We have crafters, artisans and vendors, along with barrel shaving demonstrations throughout the day. There will be Hokie this and Hokie that, wine, food, live music, crafts, artists, tours and tastings and all the team spirit your heart can handle! August 2nd from 7:30pm to 10:00pm at Oak Grove Pavilion (behind historic Zion Lutheran Church), 635 Needmore Lane in Floyd. This award-winning quartet, No Strings Attached will be performing on the outdoor stage of the Oak Grove Pavilion. No Stings Attached actually features hundreds of strings playing music described as "eclectic, jazz on acoustic instruments and world beat." The Washington Post accurately described them as "one of the more adventurous string ensembles today." So bring your family and friends and come out for an evening of great entertainment - events go on rain or shine! Admission to the event is free but a freewill donation will be encouraged at intermission. Since 1994 over $40,000 has been raised during Oak Grove Pavilion events and distributed to local charities.
