The Holidays are all about deadlines when you are talking mail and package delivery, especially if sending a package to U.S. military personnel serving overseas. Deadlines are fast approaching for shipping packages for arrival by Christmas Day to U.S. military personnel in Afghanistan or Iraq. Packages sent via U.S. Postal Service must be mailed by Dec. 4. The Postal Service deadline is Dec. 18 for mail to U.S. military bases or stations in other parts of the world. |

Officials of City of Jacksonville and the Atlantic Coast Conference certainly were not unhappy to see Virginia Tech beat Virginia yesterday. It is a well known fact, that wherever the Hokies travel to play, their fan base and a pile of tourism dollars are certain to follow. And this following is not limited to ACC Championships and Bowl games either. I can remember several years ago when John Hale, Robbie Raggs and myself went to a Tech - Miami game in Miami. Even though it was only a regular season game, the Hokie fan base in Miami was quite large. The ACC Championship will be that times about 10. |
