Layoffs continue to strike the New River Valley, as nine people lost their jobs Thursday at Pulaski Community Hospital and at Montgomery Regional Hospital, as part of company-wide downsizing by HCA, Inc.

A six month undercover drug operation is coming to a successful conclusion at this hour, as members of Pulaski-Radford Drug Task Force are in the process of arresting approximately 30 people on 56 sealed drug indictments.

A multi-vehicle accident late Monday night on I-81 near the Christiansburg interchange sent four people to the hospital, including a Virginia State Trooper. In addition, numerous accidents this morning kept troopers busy in Pulaski and Wythe counties.
