A 26-year-old Blacksburg man and his 18-year-old girlfriend are behind bars following a home-invasion robbery, which started in Carroll County and ended in Wythe County.

Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced grants worth $39,954,021 have been awarded to support criminal justice programs and services throughout the Commonwealth. The grants included Montgomery, Pulaski Counties and The City of Radford in the New River Valley.

The Wilderness Road Chorus, Sweet Adelines, honored Lavelva Stevens by naming her its 2008 Sweet Adeline of the year.

Lavelva Stevens, Pulaski, was named the 2008 Sweet Adeline of the Year, the highest award of the Wilderness Road Chorus of Sweet Adelines.
