Montgomery Co. Sheriff's Office Holds Successful Car Wash For Sutphin Scholarship Fund PDF Print E-mail

Usually people try to avoid a trip to the sheriff’s office. However, that was not the case Saturday, as a steady flow of cars poured into the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office parking lot for a car wash to benefit the Eric Sutphin Children of Law Enforcement Memorial Scholarship.

Auburn High School Class of 2008 Seniors were honored with a special Awards Ceremony Wednesday night in Riner. Brittany McElwee, Senior Class President, gave the opening remarks. Eagle Pride sponsored a reception following the event, giving everyone an opportunity to rekindle friendships and to celebrate their accomplishments.

Poor Mountain Gypsy Moth Spraying to be Completed Soon PDF Print E-mail

Late this week or early the following week, 137 acres of remote forestland on Poor Mountain near Roanoke County will be sprayed with Dimilin to control gypsy moths, depending on leaf and larval development and the weather. Small yellow planes with blue stripes are used for the aerial spraying program.
