Strong reaction to a visit scheduled on the Virginia Tech campus Thursday.

 

The visitor is a gun dealer from the mid-west.  He freely admits he sold a gun to Tech shooter Seung Hui Cho and gun equipment to Steven Kazmierczak, the shooter at Northern Illinois University.

There was a variety of food, everything from the usual hot dogs to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, as the Student Government Association sponsored its second annual Hokie Spirit Community Picnic Sunday afternoon on the campus drillfield. The event allowed the students and the Blacksburg residents to come together for an afternoon of food, games and fellowship.

A sunny day on the softly shaded VA Tech campus was the site for many tributes to those slain on April 16th, 2007.


 
About 100 students, parents and relatives of victims, attended the VA Tech Brady Campaign support-group, at 2 PM, April 16, 2008, a year after the VA Tech tragedy that left 32 victims dead. Norris Hall was the site of 30 deaths, and West Ambler Johnston Hall was the site of two killings.

Sunday is the Hokie Spirit Community Picnic. The Drillfield gathering of students, university employees, and the wider community was created by students last year as an expression of solidarity and hope in the face of adversity.
