With so many events going on at Virginia Tech on Wednesday, plus a concert on Thursday and the Annual Maroon and White game on Saturday, area law enforcement will be helping the Virginia Tech Police Department. Over the next few days, there will be an increased presence of law enforcement on campus. Virginia Tech Police Chief Wendall Flinchum released this statement: |

The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Virginia Tech Police Department are still working with local and federal law enforcement on the investigations into the tragic incidents that took place on the Virginia Tech campus April 16, 2007. The investigations of the 32 homicides, 24 attempted homicides and one suicide that took place at Norris Hall and West Ambler Johnston (WAJ) Residency Hall on that fateful day remain ongoing and will continue as active cases for at least several more months. |

With the April 16 remembrance ceremonies at Virginia Tech just a few days away, gun activist groups, such as the Brady Campaign and Protest Easy Guns groups, are still planning to demonstrate on the Blacksburg campus and at other locations across the United States. |
