Two travel lanes are now open on southbound Interstate 81 in Pulaski County at mile marker 97.  One lane of southbound I-81 was closed at mile marker 97 after an overheight vehicle damaged the I-81 bridge over Route 611 (Newbern Road) on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

After recently announcing that they would be moving their Mack truck production from the New River Valley Volvo Plant to Pennsylvania, Volvo has just announced that 973 employees, who have been on temporary layoff at the NRV plant, when now be permanently laid off.

First-degree murder charges against Richard Forest Mabry, a Pulaski County man, who stabbed to death a Radford woman in January have been certified to the grand jury following a hearing in Pulaski County District Court.
