New River Land Trust Meeting Print E-mail
Montgomery Co Va Meeting

The New River Land Trust has set a meetings Giles County to explain conservation easements to landowners. We will explain the current generous tax and cash incentives for protecting farms, forests and open spaces. A conservation easement allows a family to ensure that their land remains as working farm or productive forests while providing limited development rights. A family can harvest the development premium on their land to reinvest in their farm or retirement account while still continuing all the farm’s traditional uses.

Virginia now has the most generous tax incentives for easements in the nation. The Federal Government has also approved the most generous federal tax deductions in history for conserving family lands. The meetings are free and everyone is invited to attend.
