Two Virginia Tech researchers have been awarded a 2.4 million dollar grant by the National Science Foundation to investigate ways to engage females in information technology career fields in five states -- Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and West Virginia.

Kenneth E. Webb Jr. of Blacksburg, Va., professor and interim department head for Animal and Poultry Sciences in Virginia Tech's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences received the 2008 American Society of Animal Sciences (ASAS) Fellow Award-Research Category.
