Description:

Pulaski Middle School, one of two middle schools in the Pulaski County Public School System, serves students in grades six through eight. The school is located in beautiful Southwest Virginia in the town of Pulaski. Originally called Pico Terrace Elementary School when first built in 1937, the school later served as Pulaski High School and became a middle school in 1974 following the consolidation of county schools and the building of Pulaski County High. Our current enrollment is 577 students in grades 6-8.  The school has 44 full time teachers, a media specialist, two guidance counselors, and a full complement of support personnel to serve these students.

We have repeatedly won in the district History Day Competition for the past ten years; and for the past three years, we have had students attend the national competition. Our Knowledge Masters placed seventh in the state in 1997. Our students enjoy many extracurricular activities, a very active morning intramural program, and a wide range of athletic programs. Our band program is among the best in Virginia and includes almost a third of our school population. Our school mascot is the Oriole. We have a very active and supportive Oriole Parent Team who helps us maintain very positive home-school relationships.
