Description:

There are nine classroom teachers and a media specialist who are full time. Personnel serving IVE on a part-time basis are: guidance counselor, music teacher, physical education teacher, art teacher and a speech therapist. In the important support roles we have a secretary, an office assistant, six instructional assistants, a computer lab assistant, three custodians and three cafeteria workers. Transporting students safely to and from school is the task of eight bus drivers.

The faculty and staff work together to make the school a clean, pleasant and safe place for learning to occur. There is a spirit of caring, sharing and cooperating between faculty and staff. Materials and ideas are shared to help each to do a better job. Committee assignments are assigned but others join in to make the job easier.

The faculty and staff possess a knowledge of teaching techniques and they are creative with the activities they plan which motivates enthusiasm. There is an integration of subject areas when the themes or topics coincide. Many teachers use cooperative groups to encourage organizing, planning and completion of projects related to the theme. Teachers are receptive to new ideas. However, they study and plan before embarking upon a new curriculum and/or techniques.

We take pride in promoting a feeling of "family" in the school. Many visitors comment on the friendly atmosphere they feel when they enter our building.
