Description:

Our annual used book sale provides funds to pay for personnel expenses (salaries), mileage costs necessary to support our students and volunteer tutors, program costs associated with teaching and training our volunteer tutors and curriculum (worksheets, workbooks, DVD, ect..) for for our students. You can donate your books year-round at 195 West Main Street in Christiansburg.

We average 130 tutors a year. While this may seem impressive, the need is greater. With an estimated 21,000 functionally illiterate adults in the NRV, the need for more trained tutors is necessary in order to meet the organization's mission of increasing literacy skills for those in need of our services. We currently have students waiting in Giles and Pulaski County. If you would like to have more information on becoming a volunteer tutor, please contact us at 382-7262.
