Science forum brings business people, university researchers together
The Southwest Virginia Science Forum brings together university, college, and corporate researchers to develop new relationships, share ideas, and showcase inventions and discoveries. The next forum is Dec. 10 at the Fralin Life Science Institute (formerly the Biotechnology Center) on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, from 4 to 7:30 pm.
Researchers awarded $2.4 million to engage females in information technology careers
Two Virginia Tech researchers have been awarded a 2.4 million dollar grant by the National Science Foundation to investigate ways to engage females in information technology career fields in five states -- Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and West Virginia.

U.S. Navy, Virginia Tech announce agreement to benefit students and Navy technology programs
Virginia Tech and the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) signed a memorandum of understanding in Dahlgren, Va., Nov. 25, designed to develop and expand a framework of cooperation that will benefit the university's students and faculty in addition to Navy technology programs.
