Thursday, January 24th at 8:00pm. Contralto Clarity James is joined by guitarist Robert Trent in a recital of varied repertoire including romances of 16th century vihuela song, German lieder, a contemporary song cycle of Frank Wallace and the music of Bach. Ms. James' distinguished career includes performances with the New York City Opera, Vienna Staatsoper, Chicago Lyric Opera, Houston Grant Opera, Santa Fe Opera and Dallas Opera, as well as appearances with many major symphony orchestras. Admission is free.
Due to safety concerns, the Town of Blacksburg is allowing additional construction hours for the Gables Shopping Center renovation for the following dates and times:
From July 21st to August 1st, 6:00am to 10:00am resuming from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
The right-hand southbound lane between the 1400 to 1600 blocks of South Main Street, (from El Guadalupes to King Street), will be closed beginning July 21 until August 21. The lane will be completely closed 24 hours each day during this period.
