In the Blacksburg Municipal Bldg., Council Chambers Featuring an expert panel. Free and open to the Public. Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County. Virginia is one of only two states that permanently disenfranchise felons unless they successfully petition the government as individuals. There are about 300,000 disenfranchised felons in Virginia. The issues and processes involved in the restoration of voting rights to non-violent felons and related issues of community reintegration will be explored.
