Calling all artists and musicians! Next month's First Friday celebration falls on the 4th of July. Art Under The Sun Gallery is going to be About Music. Applications are open to any artist with art featuring instruments or musicians. "We are looking for art that's all about music," said founding member and artist, Karen Sewell. Art Under The Sun Gallery is offering a chance for artists work to be on display in the Gallery for the month of July. Any musician is welcome to play at the reception evening on Friday, July 4th from 4 PM to 7 PM. (Acoustic music only.) A music circle with musicians taking turns will be in the hallway between Art Under The Sun Gallery and Wildfire Pottery. People can plan on visiting the special art displays that have been set up for the holiday. First Friday events have been increasingly popular. "The gallery has been packed with people coming to see the art, hear the music and meet the featured artists," said member Patricia Robin Woodruff. It's really turning into a monthly must-see event for Floyd. With a variety of musicians at the reception, a fabulous (free) 4th of July refreshment spread and lots of beautiful art on the theme of music, you won't want to miss it! Send an email to floydartunderthesun@yahoo.com if you wish to participate. Display up to two works of art for the month of July, application fee is $10.
