Registration Deadline is October 8th for this incredible event coming on October 18th at the Mid County Park Activity Center. Montgomery County Parks & Recreation and the Shawnee Hunt Club invite you to enroll in the National Rifle Association's Personal Protection Course. This instructional course is open to all who have successfully completed the NRA's Basic Pistol Course or a similar approved course. The class consists of two evenings of classroom training followed by three hours of range instruction. This is an ideal class for men and women who desire more than just basic shooting fundamentals as presented in the Basic Pistol Course or who are serious about acquiring a Concealed Carry Permit with the State of Virginia. Classes are geared towards the intermediate to advanced shooter, with an emphasis on safety. All of our instructors are Certified NRA Personal Protection Instructors. This class is taught in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies. Some areas covered during this course include: avoiding personal attacks, securing your home, ammunition choices for self defense, as well as Virginia Concealed Carry and Deadly Force Laws. During the live-fire range exercises, you will be instructed through courses of fire that are set up to emulate common occurrences in self-defensive situations.
